A guide to buying a set of golf clubs
28th November 2011
If you are new to the game you will be overwhelmed when you visit the store to buy your first set of golf clubs. Here are some helpful tips to select the right set of clubs:
There are four main parts to a set of golf clubs: woods, irons, wedges and a putter. You are allowed to have a combination of fourteen clubs from these four groups. If you are new to the game you will not require a full set and could consider going for a half set which will include a range of woods and irons with a putter and sand wedge.
If you want a lighter club go for one which has a shaft made from graphite. Most of the woods have a graphite shaft while the irons are mainly made of steel.
If buying a full set make sure to have a sand wedge, a putter, at least two woods which include a driver and a fairway wood and irons ranging from 2 to 9.
Consider the size of the club head. A larger club will enhance your shot and many of the woods with heads made from titanium have bigger heads.
The option of synthetic turf
12th July 2010
Almost every sports field today employs the use of synthetic turf. And one might wonder why. The answer to this question is similar to the long-term and far-reaching benefits that turf used in any situation offers.
In playing on your lawn, there is a possibility that you can injure yourself due to inconsistent patches of grass, and in some cases you might be able to walk it off or even visit the doctor to be completely alright in a few days.
When it comes to players for whom a lot rests on, prevention is far better than cure. Almost every hot-blooded sports fan knows the disappointment of their favorite player being knocked out due to injuries. Strangely enough, the reason why artificial grass turf has been chosen over natural grass is because it is known to insure players from injury that is more likely with natural grass.
And that’s just one benefit that is not necessarily apparent, however, it has far-reaching effects in the sense that players can play without hazards, and thus this eliminates the chances of them not playing due to injury, and thus playing for what they’ve been paid for by the sports organization.
So you can see how wholesale artificial turf used for large surfaces can go a long way to saving the sports outfits large amounts of money and time.
