Deploying a Portable Power Unit

17th February 2012

A portable power pack can be a life saver in many instances. There are some instances in which the main power lines may be inaccessible like in remote bushes, or there is a power outage. The effects of a power loss are often damaging and can cause loss of property, profits or even life. Having an emergency power pack is always prudent especially in places where power is direly needed like a communications hub or a hospital.

Transport fleets also often require emergency power or a power boost. Some heavy machinery requires more juice to turn over than others. Large engines with 1500 horsepower and above need massive power just to start. This can be had by a portable power starter pack. This is basically a big battery with massive current up to 2300 AMPS at peak current. Some of the engines it can turn over include battle tanks, large trucks and even aircraft engines. These portable units are rechargeable and can give up to 6 charges in between recharging. They also have replaceable battery packs which make them very convenient.

Turbine starting can be a headache if massive power supply is needed. A ground power unit can see an end to this headache. These units can be hooked to a 240V AC current and recharge in less than 4 hours. They can also be moved from place to place as some are self propellant. In a busy environment like an airport or a military base, this can be a time saver.
