Sometimes it is fun to have a room or even each room in the house in a different theme. Doing up your bedroom, for instance, in retro home décor will make it feel cozy and nostalgic. But before you do it, give it some thought and plan it out.

Getting collectors level items is expensive and therefore doing up the whole room in that way will not be affordable. This is where you have to make some careful choices. Identify the items that will be used constantly – Pillow cases, bedspreads, etc. For these items, you can go the route of replicas as they are cheaper. This is because replicas are reproductions of the original design and therefore have a much lower market value. But when it comes to things like curtain sets, you should consider getting a vintage set. Just knowing it is forty to fifty years old will make it feel special and also give the room a nice and comfy feel.

While you’re at it trying to get your bedroom jazzed up, why not go the whole hog and get some vintage clothes as well?  Why not try some 60′s clothing or even 50′s clothing and see how it looks on you? Styles always have a way of coming around and even big Hollywood stars wear vintage clothing now and then to gala events.
